Battle for Vedros is a skirmish tabletop miniatures game that utilizes the models of Warhammer 40,000. The rules of the game are similar to the Warhammer 40,000 game but have been simplified to appeal to younger players. The models in the starter set are compatible with Warhammer 40,000; in fact, it reuses half of the sprue molds designed for 2008's Warhammer 40,000 Fifth Edition starter set named Assault on Black Reach (for almost the same MSRP as the latter's – 83% ohn and 75% with inflation).

The six expansion packs are repackagings of selected Fifth Edition unit packs (with no change in price).
