Close Action 3rd Edition: Scenario Starter Pack (2022)

This module provides 7 ready-to-use Scenarios for Close Action [CA] 3rd Edition. These scenarios are quicker to set up and play than those in other CA scenario books. The scenarios have been carefully selected from among the hundreds of actual battles from 1739 to 1815 to provide a set of interesting small actions; the first six can be played by no more than 4 players, while the 7th requires a minimum of 5. This selection was done deliberately to serve the very large percentage of wargamers who live in communities with only small gaming groups (perhaps as few as a half-dozen players or so). It has the added benefit of also serving new players and those who simply prefer smaller battles. Other key factors include: (a) an emphasis on balanced battles where victory is usually determined simply by victory points, rather than by special victory rules; (b) a selection of different types of battles, from frigate-vs-frigate actions to Ship-of-the-Line [SOL] squadron actions to combinations of both types; and (c) all ship logs for all seven scenarios have been completely pre-filled to allow you to play them all immediately, without having to fill them out yourself.
