Wörter Würfeln (1991)

This is a German word dice game, where the object is to form words from 13 dice with letters on them. Each player simply rolls the dice, turns the sand timer over and tries to use each die in forming a word or separate words. The letters have values and at the end of one's turn, the player scores for letters in words formed and subtracts the value of unused letters. Two of the dice have a blank face (although the rules mention only one) which are treated as Jokers, which can be used to represent any letter. A variant described in the rules allows words to be formed crossword style and letters that are part of a word vertically and horizontally count double. Recommended Ages 8 and up
