A game which pits Roman legionnaires against a variety of adversaries. Sandarticus is a simple, fast-paced game of small-unit action in the Roman Empire. Roman soldiers defend the Empire against enemies from without and within. Fun, exciting, easy to play, for all ages.
Several different troop types are defined in the rules: Roman Legionnaires, Roman Cavalry, Roman Auxiliaries, Greek Hoplites, Greek Light Infantry, Gladiator Revolutionaries, Revolutionary Auxiliaries, Gauls, South Germans, and North Germans. Units are ranked for speed and armor.
Twelve types of personal weapons and three siege engines are described and ranked for damage and range. Advantages and limitations of certain weapons are also specified. Other concepts covered in the rules include leadership, formation fighting, and mercenaries.
