Several times a year, when we feel like it, the Golden Journal brings Gold Club members some fun extras for their Avalanche Press games. Our new-model Golden Journal features a “real” booklet, just like a small magazine, and a small set of die-cut, silky-smooth playing pieces.
In January 1943, the German Army began to re-organize the shattered 78th Infantry Division on a new pattern, one based heavily on the experience of German and Italian units in North Africa. This new-model Storm Division would rely on more automatic weapons and fewer soldiers, with heavier allotments of support weapons and anti-tank guns, too. Infantry organizations – squads, platoons, companies and battalions – would be radically re-organized around this concept as well. The new organization would have its first test at Kursk.
Golden Journal No. 49: Storm Division provides you with 24 new pieces adding Storm Platoons and additional support weapons to Kursk: Burning Tigers. You can use them in Burning Tigers (where the Storm Division appears in three scenarios) and in the five new scenarios included in the Journal.
