The board is circular, with no centre and differs from 'circular chess' by having the baseline as the starting position with 2 fronts. It appears to be a re-implementation of Byzantine Chess, but with only the following changes from normal chess:
pawns move forward only, but on two fronts
all major pieces are free to move round the board in both directions and across both baselines
castling can only be performed with the rook on the same radial as the king
