Published in Decision Games's Strategy & Tactics issue #170 The Atlanta Campaign: Bald Hill and Ezra Church presents two additional American Civil War board wargames for their venerable "Blue & Gray" system. These games are based around the fighting for Atlanta, Georgia during the American Civil War and each game is named for the individual battles they portray and are a direct continuation and combines with Strategy & Tactics Issue 169 and Atlanta Campaign: Peachtree Creek and Jonesboro to allow gamers to recreate the entire "Atlanta Campaign".
This set of board wargames are often referred to as "Blue & Gray Second Edition" with the series rules being only slightly updated with the standard rules still fully backward-compatible with previous games already published in the Blue & Gray.
This "Second Edition Blue & Gray" series started with Seven Days Battles Seven Days Battles covering battles from the Peninsula Campaign (a stand alone game never released in magazine form), and Strategy & Tactics issue #166 with the battles of Savage Station and Olustee then continuing with Strategy & Tactics issue #169 which covered the first half of Atlanta Campaign: Peachtree Creek and Jonesboro and with which this game can be combined into a single, large campaign game that covers key fighting in four major battles around Atlanta, GA during the American Civil War.
