Roar! (2011)

"Once upon a time, a woman who sold rice cake encountered a hungry tiger on her way home. The tiger said, “Give me a piece of rice cake, or I’ll prey on you!” The woman had no choice but to give the tiger some of hers, then the tiger ate it and went somewhere. After a while the woman met the tiger again. The tiger asked for more rice cake but she had no more. Then the tiger roared and preyed on her. The tiger which knew that she had two kids ran her home. Could two kids safely flee away from the tiger? Roar! is a twisted trick-taking game, based on a Korean traditional folk tale, “The Sun and the Moon”. In the game, each player takes a different role: Brother, Sister, Mother and Tiger. According to their roles, the players must plan different strategies because they have different scoring manners: The Brother who is considerate toward to his younger Sister should take as less tricks as possible while the Sister should win as more tricks as possible. The Tiger which disguised as their Mother will reveal itself as a Tiger with roaring when the two kids lower their guard. At the end of a round, the one who has less tricks than the Tiger will be preyed by the Tiger. 옛날 옛적에, ë–¡ 장수 아주머니가 집에 오는 길에 배고픈 호랑이와 맞닥뜨렸습니다. 호랑이는 “ë–¡ 하나 주면 안 ìž¡ì•„ 먹지!”라고 말했습니다. 아주머니는 호랑이에게 가지고 있던 떡을 조금 주었고, 호랑이는 떡을 먹고 어디론가 사라졌습니다. 얼마 후에 아주머니는 ê·¸ 호랑이를 다시 만났습니다. 호랑이는 아주머니에게 떡을 더 달라고 했지만 아주머니에게는 남은 떡이 없었습니다. 그러자 호랑이는 으르렁거리며 아주머니를 ìž¡ì•„ 먹었습니다. 아주머니에게 두 아이가 있는 것을 알고 있던 호랑이는 아주머니 집으로 달려갔습니다. ê·¸ 두 아이는 호랑이에게서 무사히 달아날 수 있었을까요? “어흥!”은 한국의 전래 동화, “해님 달님”에 기반한 특이한 트릭-테이킹 게임입니다. 이 게임에서 각 플레이어는 서로 다른 역할을 맡습니다: 오빠와 여동생, 엄마, 호랑이. 플레이어들은 자신의 역할에 따라 유일한 다른 점수계산 방법을 가지기 때문에 서로 다른 전략을 구상해야 합니다: 어린 여동생을 배려하는 오빠는 가능한 í•œ 적은 트릭을 가져와야 하는 반면에 철부지 여동생은 가능한 í•œ 많은 트릭을 가져와야 합니다. 아이들의 엄마로 변장한 호랑이는 아이들이 방심할 때에 “어흥” 소리를 ë‚´ë©° 자신이 호랑이임을 밝힐 것입니다. 라운드의 종료 시에 호랑이보다 트릭을 적게 가지고 있는 사람은 호랑이에게 ìž¡ì•„ 먹힐 것입니다.
