Postcard Midway is a lightspeed fast, simple little Battle of Midway postcard wargame.
Although it shows 16 turns, early destruction of the Japanese Kido Butai carrier striking force can decide the game in the first 4, as historically. Fog of War has been fully worked in: the US has only a 50% codebreaking chance (of setting up a Point Luck or wherever ambush), and even with that only a further 50% chance of Yorktown being repaired in time for the battle.
Movement EXTREMELY simplified, and the design emphasis is on the 2 factors critical in the battle: intelligence and timing of air attacks. Airstrikes can be sent out (up to a 1-hex range) push-your-luck blindly or (push-your-luck vulnerably, if readied) held back on deck for a daylight turn, to wait to find out what Recon finds (as the Japanese fatally did, historically).
