Forum Romanum
This out-of-print placement game by Wolfgang Kramer is very accessible. Players take turns placing colored pieces in rooms. Completed rows, columns, diagonals, or rooms score points; majorities gain points while minorities lose them. Running out of pieces forces movement, which can suddenly ruin built-up scoring opportunities.
