The ancient classic point trick taking game with trumps played with a special pack of 63 Sicilian Tarocchi, in a new version optimized for modern and international players, from the extraordinary brush of the cartoonist and illustrator Lelio Bonaccorso. The oldest trick-taking game played in Sicily, today is in the Register of Intangible Heritage - UNESCO of the Sicily Region.
The deck, with Its unique features set it apart from the sophisticated games played elsewhere in Italy and Europe. Starting perhaps as early as the 19th century, the number of its cards was cut down to 63. All suits have 4 court cards: Lady [J], Cavalier [C], Queen [Q] and King [K]. The 21 cards called "Trionfi" or "Tarocchi" have the role of trumps, while "U Fujutu" (i.e. The Runaway), not numbered, represents a jester – or The Fool in the other Tarot decks.
The various games that in some cases are still played today are distinguished by number of players and partnerships between them, the way of dealing the cards, the preliminary phases of setting temporary partnerships, the presence or absence of bidding for additional objectives, the scoring methods, and the aim of the game. The ranking of the cards and the system of card-point values is common to all the games.
This new edition includes for the first time a leaflet with the detailed rules (in Italian) of the version with the richest and most exciting objectives and a QR code directing to a file with rules in English.
