A chess-style abstract strategy game played on a pyramid of four boards: 12x12, 8x8, 5x5 and 1x1. Each player has a pyramid (king), a cube (rook), a cylinder (bishop), a double-pawn (knight) and 44 pawns, and the winner is the player whose pyramid ascends to the fourth (1x1) board.
The game starts with each player's pyramid, cube, cylinder and 12 pawns arranged on the first (12x12) board; the remaining 32 pawns and the double-pawn start off the board and can be introduced on the owning player's back rank in lieu of a move. A player's piece can ascend to a higher board only when two pawns or one major piece belonging to that player have been captured. Otherwise pieces move approximately as their chess equivalents, although pawns gain the ability to move in more directions when they ascend to smaller boards.
