Another Day on Okinawa is a fictional 5-scenario campaign based on the brutal battles fought to overcome the Japanese fortifications on the hilltops and ridges of that island in 1945.
One side commands the US Marines, with plenty of firepower and excellent leadership, while the others play the Japanese, heavily fortified and prepared to sell their lives dearly.
Each scenario has an effect on the next through “campaign bonuses,” rewarded for particular achievements.
Overall victory is determined by victory points, awarded for winning scenarios and for achieving specific missions in each scenario.
To play the game, you will need:
5’x’4 table
Hills, shellholes, destroyed trees, and brush
Two Sherman tanks
Approximately 70 US Marine infantry
Five bunkers
Approximately 50 Japanese infantry
A set of WWII rules—this campaign is written with A Sergeant’s War in mind but it can be adapted to other systems
