From the Inside Cover:
this is a set of variants and games based on Diplomacy, the popular game of international negotiation, intrigue, and warfare (voted Game of the Year in 1976 and 1977 by Games & Puzzles readers). It is necessary to know how to play Diplomacy in order to use this booklet. Many of the games also require use of a Diplomacy board and pieces. Mapsheets are provided for others, but a set of pieces is still required. In all cases all additional rules needed are included. The games range from the abstract to World War II to "swords and sorcery", some for fewer than seven players. They are arranged in a progressive instructive format to enable inexperienced players to learn simple variants first and more complex ones later. There are also special sections on two - and three - player Diplomacy.
