Koi Koi Solitaire (2021)

Shuffle the deck and deal out 8 cards to the table and to yourself.

You start off the usual way by matching from your hand with a card on the table, followed by drawing one from the deck and matching it or placing it on the table. (drawn cards never go into your hand.)

In this version you are playing against the deck. After you go, the deck draws one card to play as if from their hand, matching any cards that are available or place it on the table. Then draw a second and repeat the previous option.

Play like this continues until you or the deck gets a valid combo, you may choose to koi koi, but the deck never does and immediately ends the round with the points. For added fun you can allow the deck to koi koi on some possible combos like 10 chaff and/or 5 seeds as these ones are easier to score in the coming turn and adds a challenge for the player to try and score something before they do.

Place all cards the deck claims across from you on the table to keep track, just like you do on your side.

Play a set of 3, 6, or 12 rounds like the traditional game. And keep track of both sides trying to beat the deck. For a hard mode give the deck a starting 10 points and beat them by the end of all rounds

House rules that can add to the possible combos.
Full month: getting all four cards of one month, either at the start when dealt or during the game. scoring 6 points.
Joined hand: getting a full hand of 2 cards each from four different months in hand, immediately ending the round. scores 6 points.
