Tales of Kunugi (2024)

Tales of Kunugi is a cooperative board game, made in wood, challenging dexterity, logic and team spirit for up to 4 players. This race for points in team suits to confirmed players and families of regular players.

Play as “Kodama”, the forest spirits, to rejuvenate the old Kunugi oak tree: grow its branches and leaves, and ornate it with Japanese folklore decorations and bird nests. Around the tree, communication is limited so focus on your actions and the actions of your team members. Use your strategic thinking and dexterity to grow and garland a sacred tree.

Along 5 rounds representing 5 years for the tree, your group will be randomly assigned common objectives and, for each of you, at least one secret mission. To accomplish your goals and successfully revivify the Kunugi, the group will perform some actions for each season:

In Winter, prepare the twigs and ornaments to be used during the year
In Spring, add twigs to the trunk and branches to make the tree grow
In Summer, garland the Oak with ornaments; it’s festival season!
In Autumn, harvest the donguris. Acorns are needed to strengthen Kodama’s powers and allow them to execute special moves!
