1855: Lu Trinittu (2024)

18xx set in the Marches region, Central Italy.

Starting in 1855, right before the Unification, the Marches were part of the Papal State at the time of Pope Pious IX, the first Pope to embrace railways, after the missed opportunities of the previous Gregorio XVI.

The game opens with an extended auction for Papal and Bishop Concessions, Minor Companies and Privates.
The Papal Concession will steal money from the Pope and lay tracks starting from Ancona, with the object of preparing the advent of the Strade Ferrate Romane, the National Company, which will have several advantages but also many limitations.

The other Concessions will work in favour of the Minor Companies who start inland near the mountains and instantly earn money for themselves and their owners.

Privates are randomized and give many different powers, either before or after the unification.

It's up to the Papal Concession player to judge when the Minors are earning too much money and if the Strade Ferrate Romane has enough money and track to start, and to pull the trigger for the Unification of Italy. The other Concessions have to guess when this will happen in order to convert to shares of the SFR.

After the Unification the “standard” game starts.
1855 is an incremental game with debts, auctions for failed companies, minors merging into majors, destinations and historical phases like the Ancona bombardment, financial crisis and the advent of the “Autocarro” (pullman).
