ノラネコ ボスネコ (Noraneko Bossneko) (2021)

ノラネコ ボスネコ (Noraneko Bossneko) is a game from Japan. Stray kittens are in the park run by a boss cat. The grumpy boss cat will only let one kitten stay, the one that gets close but doesn't disturb. So they must sneak up quietly to the boss cat but not get caught out.

The game has a grid which the five kittens must advance across, and a chart measuring how angry the boss cat gets when disturbed. There are 25 stray cat cards (walk, run, make eye contact, look away, blink, 5 of each), and 8 boss cat cards for relaxing, normal, alert, vigilant and bad mood.

Players choose cards from their hand to move their kitten. The kitten furthest to the left moves first, and kittens in columns go from top to bottom. After the kittens move, a card is turned up for the boss cat's mood, and a marker might move on the scale. If the marker reaches the top of the scale, the boss cat lashes out and then becomes calm again, resetting the marker back to zero.

The kitten that successfully gets to the boss cat first is accepted and wins the game.
