This is a 30-page booklet containing 10 game situations to solve based around the cards contained in the Initiation Pack (formerly known as the Starter Kit). For each scenario, you are shown what cards you have access to and the layout of your opponent's board. From there, you must figure out how to defeat the opposing "player" with the limited resource pool provided. If you get stuck, you can also find the solutions to each challenge in the back of the booklet.
While helpful, you don't actually need to own the Initiation Pack or any of the Clash of Decks stand-alone expansions to play and solve the game situations that are contained within this Grimoire. If so inclined, you can also create your own scenarios using an online creation tool found on the Clash of Decks website.
