The SPE-DEM AUTO RACE GAME was manufactured by All-Fair Games (Alderman, Fairchild Co., Rochester, NY) and dated on the board as patented in 1922. The game consists of two (2) folding game boards, each measuring 17" by 17 1/2" when open. One is the OROTECH AUTO RACE board, and the other is the SPE-DEM. Six cast metal cars, each measuring 1 3/4" long by 1/2" wide and standing 5/8" tall (Buick, Ford, Paige, Maxwell, Dodge and Saxon) are included, as well as a cardboard shaker and six wooden dice that have the six letters that stand for the cars (B, F, P, M, D, S) that along with the cars fit in a small utensils box. Directions are on inside of the box lid.
The game is basically a roll-and move horse-racing type game. There are several squares on the playing track marked "Accident" which, when landed upon, cause that car to have to restart the race. The "Blow-out" squares cause the cars to stall for one turn. First car across the finish line wins.
