Afterglow: Outer Dark (2021)

Outer Dark is an expansion for Afterglow, the hyperlight space combat game. In Outer Dark, humanity is being pushed to the brink of extinction by advanced spacefacing Bioships of an unknown origin. Rather than continuing to war with each other, STARCORE Commanders are being called upon to fight to protect the human race as a whole in a rearguard battle while a solution to the crisis is found.

Outer Dark introduces the Biocraft, which are fully controlled by an automata. This allows for a solitaire or cooperative experience for players. The Biocraft may be engaged in one-off battles, or players can use the rules for the campaign where players maintain a persistent fleet of ships. They're also required to manage the strategic resources of a sector while managing it's evacuation as the Biocraft assault the sector.
