The year 2000, the year of the Dragon in the Chinese Zodiac, saw the re-launch of the Shadowfist game from publisher Z-Man Games.
The set consisted of five 50-card starter decks for each of the five main factions: the Dragons, the Eaters of the Lotus, the Ascended, the Guiding Hand, and the Architects of the Flesh.
Blurb from the starter box: "Shadowfist is the award winning Trading Card Game that's as fast paced as the Hong Kong action films it's based on. Enter a world where factions battle for control of Feng Shui Sites, mystical places that guarantee power and prosperity for those who control them."
This was a standalone reimplementation of the original Shadowfist. A version of the original is not needed to play. Many cards have been reprinted with fixes to wording for clarification and fixes to gameplay functions. However, it can be integrated with the original game with "play as printed" and "most recent printing" rules to resolve any conflicts.
