"La Bataille de Nancy: 5 Janvier 1477 covers the battle of Nancy that saw the victory of the young Duke of Lorraine René II over the Burgundian army and the death of Charles Le Téméraire, causing the end of the Duchy of Burgundy.
Forces of Lorraine have to rout the Burgaundian army that is besieging Nancy, the capital city of Lorraine.
Game mechanisms are classic (I go - U go). Turn sequence is:
- Lorraine: move
- Lorraine: combat
- Burgundy: move
- Burgundy: combat
Count density is low (Lorraine and allies 20, Burgundy and allies 10). Combat use a CRT (from 1/6 to 6/1) yielding results from attacker eliminated to defender eliminated (exchange is always possible on a 6 for 4/1 to 6/1).
Artillery bombardment is also possible.
At the end of the 11th round, players compare victory points. VPs are obtained through elimination of ennemy units. Players score additional VPs if they have enough units close to Nancy.
