Desert War: Area 88 is a Japanese doujin (fan-made) board-wargame that was produced for sale only at game shows in Japan, such as Tokyo Game Market. To get one you would place an order in advance, the game would be made and brought to the show for you to pick up. It was not for sale to the general public.
This game is based on the anime series Area 88, and deals with mercenary fight pilots fighting for a fictitious kingdom called Aslan.
This particular title uses the "Commando" system from Decision Games. It is a solitaire game where you are trying to earn enough money to end your contract with the Asland Defense Forces and return back to Japan. Each mission you complete brings you closer to your goal.
Game comes with rules, map, event sheet, and counters. Assembly is required.
