The Basics
In Warlord Chess players move, capture, check, and checkmate just like in standard chess. However there is no en passant or castling. Instead, special spaces on the board allow the pieces to make special moves.
Duration: Play lasts for 40 ROUNDS after which TIME’S UP.
Round: A round is counted after every ACTIVE (non-Mated) player has taken their turn.
Winning: If a player checkmates their last opponent, they win the game.
Otherwise after TIME’S UP all active players add up the points of the pieces they captured during the game.
The active player with the highest score is the winner.
If there is a tie, then the tying player with the most
checkmates wins. If there is still a tie, then all tying
players tie for 1st place.
