"Invasion! Your squad of 2 mechs must protect cities from giant monsters, while completing goals to earn upgrades across a 6-game campaign." A solo mechs vs. monsters nanogame. Originally created for the BoardGameGeek 2019 9-card Nanogame contest (where it took 4th place overall, and 1st place for best art), Bury Me in the Rift is a quick, compact solo game where the player controls a squad of 2 mechs to fight off giant eldritch monsters that are attacking cities. Individual games are strung together into a 6-game campaign where the enemies gradually get stronger, and you must upgrade your squad to keep up. The second edition greatly expands the contest version of the game, with more possible card combinations, 2 additional mechs and 2 additional maps, the addition of pilots, and status tokens instead of dice. Bury Me in the Rift is completely inspired by the excellent video game, Into the Breach, by Subset Games.
