Never Mind the Boathooks (2023)

Boathooks is a set of late medieval naval wargames rules related to (but not requiring) their landlubbing forefather: Never Mind the Billhooks. Boathooks is a light-hearted card and dice-driven game of skirmish combat on the seas, where a tactician’s approach counts for little in the face of the tides of fortune. The rules were given away free with Wi426 - the June 2023 issue of Wargames Illustrated. You can order a copy of the magazine and the rules from the Wi webstore! A handful of medieval model boats and figures are required for each side. Create and customise your fleet with a variety of warships, galleys, support vessels (skiffs), and more advanced vessels (carracks, merchantmen, and great ships). Rally your seafarers with Captains and Admirals. Each player requires one Captain figure onboard each of their warships and an Admiral on their flagship.
