Volume Three of Refighting History follows on from Volume Two continuing to examine and refight the battles of the War of the Austrian Succession.
There are two more of Frederick’s big battles.
These are Hohenfriedberg and Soor, each divided into two games.
There is in addition a rather unusual game featuring the attack on Frederick’s camp by Nádasdy and Trenck during the battle of Soor.
However, the War of the Austrian Succession involved other armies and theatres of operations. Having covered Hohenfriedberg and Soor in this volume the focus move to the western theatre to cover the Rocoux. Here the French forces of Marshal Saxe face the Allied Army including Britain.
In addition to these battles, six games in all, there is the usual update on Charles’ wargame armies and some additional thoughts on artillery.
