In Carbon Lean, you represent a citizen, having the capacity to “consume” different products, goods and services. Each of them has a “carbon cost” in CO2 emissions – calculated in Kilos Equivalent CO2 (kgCO2) according to official and referenced figures. Your objective is to reduce your “total carbon footprint” by choosing products, goods and services that consume the least compared to other players!
The Carbon Lean game can be used in different variants, of increasing difficulty (1, 2 and 3), thus allowing the whole family to play. It also allows you to estimate your own carbon footprint. With its 3 variants, you can play with your children (V1-V2), or race between teenagers and adults (V3).
The publisher advises playing variants 1 and 2 at least once, to better discover the cards and their “cost” in “kilograms CO2 equivalent”, before starting many games of variant 3.
